Aromatherapy prescription blending in the modern spa
Discover one of the most exciting ancient trends in the beauty industry today. Aromatherapy has become the fastest growing natural healing art in the country, utilizing essential oils or aromatic plants to promote health and well being of the body and serenity of the mind and soul
This class teaches you how essential oils have direct and very specific effects on the skin and why they contribute enormously to the health, vitality and appearance of the skin.
Section 1 of this class includes:
- The history and role of aromatherapy in the spa
- Customizing skin and body care treatments with essential oils
- Matching 12 essential oils and their properties for the basic skin types and common disorders such as acne, oily or aging skin
- Safety, contradindications, dosages and dilutions
- Blending facial and body oils
Body wrap, showerless
This easy and simple spa body treatment is great for the Esthetician and spa that does not have a vichey or shower. A fantastic class that teaches you how to show your client how to look and feel great, what cellulite really is, how toxins can be reduced in the body, how to stimulate circulation, how sensible eating habits and exercise can be integrated into a healthy lifestyle while keeping the body soft and toned.
Glycolic peels and advanced enzyme therapy treatments
Many clients go to spas and their Esthetician for chemical peels and they are used in spas throughout the world. This intensive week long class teaches the theory of acids, the difference between superficial and medical grade peels, the different acids used in superficial peels such as glycolic, lactic, salicylic and malic and tartaric acids, the importance of Ph, treatments using acids for any skin type and contraindications. The Academy currently offers a treatment called "Pumpkin Facial" which uses a cocktail of acids, vitamins and enzymes and is a very popular anti-aging treatment for our clients. Each student will see a demonstration of this technique, practice this technique many times and take a test on glycolic peels before graduating to the level to take clients for this high-end spa treatment.
Microdermabrasion
A 2-day theoretical and practical application class in microdermabrasion addressing various skin types and disorders including anti-aging.
