FINANCIAL AID: HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

With current economical conditions, education can be difficult to afford for many people.  Luckily, with the help of financial aid, you don't have to wait for better days, or a windfall, in order to start school.

Our hands-on financial aid staff have helped many of our students develop a financial aid plan no matter their circumstances.  With financial aid, many of our students have their tuition completely covered through federal loans and grants.  We provide payment plans for those who do not wish to apply for financial aid, or are not eligible to apply for federal funds.

The Academy For Salon Professionals works with students to assist them in financing an education through Title IV federal funding.  We offer the following programs for those who qualify:
  • Federal Pell Grants
  • Federal Direct Stafford Loans
  • Federal Direct Plus Loans
We also offer other funding options, including:
  • Academy interest-free payment plans
A student is eligible for Title IV financial aid at the Academy For Salon Professionals if he/she:
  • Is enrolled in the Cosmetology or Esthetics program
  • Is a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Has a valid social security number
  • Is not in default of a federal student loan
  • Maintains satisfactory academic progress while in school (see the Academy For Salon Professionals SAP policy in our Course Catalog)

apply for financial aid in 3 easy steps:

Step 1: Meet with one of our financial aid advisors.

Step 2: Complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form.  You will need our school code, 041857, when applying.

Step 3: Complete our Enrollment Agreement.

Financial Aid Code Of Conduct

The Higher Education Opportunity Act conditions the eligibility of educational institutions to participate in Title IV programs on the development of and compliance with a code of conduct prohibiting conflicts of interest for its financial aid personnel [HEOA § 487(a)(25)]. Academy for Salon Professionals employees are required to comply with this code of conduct.

  • Conflicts of interest are prohibited with respect to the loans.
  • Revenue sharing arrangements are prohibited with any lender.
  • The solicitation or acceptance of gifts from a lender, guarantor or servicer is prohibited by anyone with responsibilities with respect to education loans at AFSP.
  • Receipt of any fees, payments or other financial benefits for consulting services are prohibited by anyone with responsibilities with respect to education loans.
  • The assignment of a first-time borrower’s loan to a particular lender is prohibited and AFSP is required to certify and not delay certification of any loan regardless of the lender or guaranty agency the borrower selects.
  • The acceptance of any funds to be used for private education loans in exchange for AFSP providing concessions to the private lender is prohibited.
  • AFSP is prohibited from accepting assistance with call center staffing or financial aid office staffing from any lender. AFSP may, however, accept professional development training for its financial aid administrators, counseling, financial literacy, and debt management materials from lenders as well as short-term, non-recurring staffing assistance during an emergency.
  • Any employee with responsibilities with respect to financial assistance at AFSPwho serves on an advisory board or commission of a lender or guarantor may not accept anything of value from the lender or guarantor except reimbursement for the reasonable expenses of serving on the board or commission.
